To accelerate the development of exhibition industry is one of Shanghai’s key tasks to realize economic transformation, create an international hub for exhibition and build international trade center as required by the central government of China. With an aim to offer highly efficient and convenient governmental services and explore new service management model, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce takes the lead in building the public information service platform for exhibition industry.
Starting from July 1st of 2016, automatic registration of exhibition-related information has been officially adopted by the platform where Shanghai exhibition companies may voluntarily register information of exhibitions. The information shall be open for public inquiry and serve as key reference for Ministry of Commerce of China in regards to guiding and supporting the appraisal of exhibitions and building credibility system, and etc.
In addition, to follow up matters involving the removal of administrative approval for certain kind of exhibition projects and to make sure smooth operation of foreign-oriented fairs on economic and technology exchange in the transitional period before formal regulations are adopted by the country, starting from July 1st of 2016, the exhibition information registered on the platform has been shared with Shanghai Customs and served as the proof for exhibit goods in terms of clearance management.
